Alpha Sprouts are great in salads, stir-fry’s, and in sandwiches. Their nutritional content is also something to be excited about! High in Vitamin K, Calcium, Vitamin C, and so many other nutrients. They also have a low caloric content vs. the amount you can eat.
My family is always looking for ways to incorporate healthy options into our meals and for prices that are reasonable.
We recently purchased the Sprout Master so we could start growing our own Alpha Sprouts, which we all love in this household!
Sprout Master – $44.95
Mum’s Alpha Sprouting Seeds – $4.29
Both were purchased from the Earth’s General Store.
The Sprout Master will pay itself off way before we make our way through the first bag and the options for different seeds are awesome.
Check out the Mum’s Sprouting Seeds website to see your seed choices, which can also be purchased at the Earth’s General Store.
**Alternatively, if you are looking to make this budget friendly endeavor even more budget friendly, you can use a glass jar to grow your sprouts instead**
The amount of effort it takes to grow sprouts is not extensive. All you need to do it water/rinse the sprouts morning and evening and wait the necessary germination period to process. (depending on the sprout it is 5 to 7 days)
And then WALA you have got your sprouts!
**If you are worried about bacteria, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and “toast” them in the oven for 1-2 minutes this could kill some of the bacteria. Take them out BEFORE they start to brown. This will give them a little more of a crunchy texture, but you can still use them whichever way you want to**
**Pregnant ladies and those with weakened immune systems should consider not eating these or use caution as the little heads can house E-Coli, which could be of great risk**
What have you grown or made lately that is budget friendly? We would love for you to share.
