Finger Jello – A Classic Recipe From My Mom’s Recipe Box!

This Finger Jello recipe was first posted in April 2015 and was updated in October 2020.

How To Make Finger Jello At Home

Not only is Finger Jello delicious and fun to eat, but it’s also a great sensory food item for your kids.

I recently had the chance to raid my mom’s recipe box. You know, that grey box filled with recipe cards?? There are so many gems in there! One of the recipes that I came across was for Finger Jello.  It’s easy to make and kids love them.

What You Will Need

Directions

  1. Boil water to make your Jello
  2. Dissolve Gelatin into 1/3 cup of warm water and put it to the side
  3. Empty Jello packet into a bowl
  4. Add 1 cup of boiling water to Jello and mix
  5. Add Gelatin mix to Jello
  6. Pour the mixture into your casserole dish and put it in the fridge to set for 5 hours

When Your Finger Jello Is Set

Now that your Jello has set it’s now time to use your cookie cutters! If you don’t want to use cookie cutters, you can also cut them into cubes, which is how my kids prefer Finger Jello these days!

If you are using cookie cutters you will have the pieces around the cutouts left. Don’t let these go to waste, we keep ours and mix them with whipping cream for a fun dessert.
