This week I feel like I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing SEO, WordPress and Social Media. There are so many things that I have learned, probably forgotten even more, AND so many things that I need to do. I figured this week I would do it on 5 things that I have learnt this week. Who knows, maybe I will teach you something???
1. Wordpress and I have a love hate relationship. One of my biggest complaints is when I was typing something and hit enter (return on Mac’s) it double spaced my lines and single lines are what I was trying to achieve. I am sure some of you can feel my pain and to be honest I felt like a noob for not being able to figure it out/ So how do you make it so that the line of just a single line???? Instead of just pushing enter(return) you push enter(return) and shift at the same time. That’s it.
2. Speaking of WordPress and SEO. You need to download the YOAST SEO plugin. This will help you 110% and it’s FREE. It requires some back and forth between Google Analytics and WordPress for set up but once your are finished installing it, you are golden. Also, if you get stumped YouTube will be your best friend.
3. Facebook groups. There are so many but where do you start? I have recently joined the DIY SEO for Bloggers group and so far it’s been pretty informative.
4. The Social Media Marketing Podcasts were shared with me earlier this week and I am definitely liking them. They are easy to follow, and not boring. With podcasts on Facebook ads, Google Analytics, Pinteresting Marketing and so much more.
5. If you haven’t signed up for Canva you need to. This isn’t new to me, but I am amazed at how many people don’t know about it. This is where you can create your images for all of your Social Media platforms in the proper picture sizes. There are a lot of free options but there is also options for you to pay.
What about you? What are some tips that you have for increasing SEO, good social media groups to join, helpful plugins for WordPress, anything? Please share the love. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the tips. I am pretty new to blogging and am trying to learn as much as I can! You are also about the 500th person I’ve read who has recommended Canva so think I will give that a try haha 🙂 Have a great weekend!

The whole line break thing in WordPress actually has a purpose – usually you would only “force” a break by hitting enter/return if you would want to start a new paragraph in your writing – that’s why it gives you more space. 🙂
I’ve probably joined about 30 groups on Facebook, there are really so so many! But I honestly am only active in a handful.
