How to make bread crumbs
I am sure you can relate to this. You have a recipe you want to make, you have all the ingredients (or so you thought) you go to pull out the bread crumbs..the one ingredient that you can not leave out…BUT…oh wait.. YOU FORGOT THOSE. <—— Story of my life! Don’t worry from now on you can make your own bread crumbs and it’s super easy!
5 steps on how to make bread crumbs.
- Turn oven on to 350°
- Grease baking pan
- Break bread up into smaller pieces and put into a food processor (2 pieces make a little over 1 cup of bread crumbs)
- Mix in spices according to what you need, or want. (I added Parmesan cheese, Oregeno, Basil, a pinch of salt & pepper).
- Put crumbs onto the pan and place in the oven to toast for 2 minutes, pull out, mix and put back in the oven until the bread crumbs are lightly toasted/browned.
Use them now or save them for later
You can use the bread crumbs right away (well let them cool a little bit), or coat them with a little bit of olive oil and store them in a sealed container in the fridge for a approximately 1 month. You never have to buy bread crumbs ever again. And a plus – if you have bread that is borderline stale…it’s great to use when making bread crumbs.
