Splash, play + picnic at Jackie Parker Park

Jackie Parker Park

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Jackie Parker Park here in Edmonton, then this is one park that you need to check out with your kids! When I was writing my post about parks in Edmonton that have bathrooms I came across this park and I am so glad I did. Located in South Edmonton at at 4540 50 Street this park is a huge hidden gem within the city!

Splash

In between 2 of the play areas and close to the bathrooms this spray deck is one of the best that I have seen in Edmonton. There is plenty of space for kids to run around in the water to cool off and a water table as well for kids to play in as well.

Play

With 5 separate areas to play, there is definitely space for kids of all ages. A place for smaller kids, a forrest theme area, a main park the makes it ‘feel like playing in a fortress’, run, and play, a whole section dedicated to climbing, and another area for swinging. This park has. it. all.

Picnic

With plenty of green space to throw down a blanket as well as picnic tables all around there isn’t a lack of space to set up for a few areas. My favourite is the campfire set up for sure, a perfect area to roast some hot dogs while the kids play! (*current fire ban in effect 5/6/16)

The park also has some great trails to go for a walk, a decent amount of parking, as well as dog park. I’d say this park is going to top our list of parks to play in this summer for sure!
