Summer trips: Visit the Whitecourt River Slides

Whitecourt River Slides

A fun and free activity for everyone, the Whitecourt River Slides are definitely one place you need to put on your list of places to go this summer with the family.

Located within the Rotary Park in Whitecourt and only a 2 hour drive from Edmonton it’s a great destination for a day trip on a sunny summers day! Pack a picnic lunch or grab something at the grocery store in town on your way there and set up at one of the many areas available on the green space or even the picnic tables available.

Slides

From the starting point you can go down left of right. The right side has a bit more curves which makes it a tad bit of a slower tube ride. The right side has less curves making it a little faster in some areas. Which ever side you choose, they are equally fun and the time it takes to get to the bottom is not even 60 seconds!

Campsites close to Whitecourt River Slides

With Carson Pegasus Provincial Park within a 45 minute drive, plus a few other camp grounds and RV parks this is one of the great destinations around Whitecourt.

The park and spray deck

There is also an amazing park and spray deck within Rotary park. With playground equipment suited for all ages, and in some areas more than 1 level in the play structure all of the kids enjoyed playing there. The spray deck is located in between the park and river slides and is a convenient option for kids that want to play in the water but don’t want to go into the river slides.

Things to consider

The Whitecourt River Slides and splash deck are open daily from 10am-9pm throughout the summer providing the temperature is 16 and above. There are some Wednesdays 10am-12pm where it will be closed down for maintainence and upkeep. Public washrooms are on site, as well as several porta-potties.
