Canada Screams for Ice Cream. Donate $2 for an Ice Cream at Sobeys

If there is one thing that you need to put on your calendar to do this Saturday, June 24th it’s the Canada Screams for Ice Cream event. 

Taking place at a Sobeys, Safeway, or IGA in your community across Western Canada every $2 donation gets you an Ice Cream 

100% of the money raised at the Canada Screams for Ice Cream events will go to youth-based organizations helping to provide snacks and meals for kids in communities across Western Canada. 

Did you know 1 in 6 kids go hungry in Canada? In addition to food banks, youth organizations are also seeing a rise in kids coming to their programs hungry – at schools, clubs and shelters.

Sobeys will also be matching the funds raised up to $100,000 and here in Edmonton funds will be donated to Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS).

Canada Screams for Ice Cream + Kids Paying-it-Forward

June 24th will also mark the launch of the new Sobeys Kids Paying-it-Forward program. 150 kids from participating charities across Western Canda will receive $500 in Sobeys, Safeway and IGA gift cards to donate to a community group that has helped their family, friends or neighbors. 

A total of $75,000 will be donated all while recognizing these mini-role models and empowering them to make better food possible in their community.
