The Sound of Music is a classic movie that I’ve watched every Christmas Eve, for as long as I can remember and now that classic is coming alive on stage at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium September 19th-24th.

The Sound of Music

The story is set in Austria during WWII and tells a story of Maria who becomes the Von Trapp’s governess, and helps the family to bring joy and love back into their lives through music. This family-friendly performance is definitely one that the whole family will love.

Featuring music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, you will hear many of your favourite songs such as “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” “Do-Re-Mi” and more!

Tickets start at $30.50 with performances taking place Tuesday- Saturday evenings at 8 pm, Sunday evening 7:30 pm and a 2 pm matinee on both Saturday and Sunday

All of the songs are amazing but the one that gets stuck in my head most often is “My Favourite Things”! It makes me wonder what the song would be like if it was written in 2017…
