To say that we’ve been struggling with keeping up with the housework is an understatement. At the beginning of January, I started a new job doing social media for a company in the United States and Kris has been quite busy with work.
Add in the registered activities for the kids, the birthday season, general commitments and the desire to actually sleep our cleaning schedule has definitely suffered.
Recently I had the chance to book a cleaning with Mopify, which is home cleaning service that operates in Edmonton and surrounding areas as well as in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
With professional cleaners that have undergone criminal background checks, a reference check and an in-person interview Mopify pride themselves on employing staff that is thorough, reliable and friendly.
As a company, they also fully insured which protects you and your home for up to $5,000,000 per occurrence against all property damage and personal liability claims, should anything happen.
How to book
The whole entire booking process is online and customized to what you need. Because everything is completed online, your schedule cleanings, instructions for the cleaner, payments are logged on their dashboard for future reference.
Once you create an online account you go through questions which include how many square feet your house is, how many bedrooms, bathrooms, if you have pets etc.. This will help to determine how long you will need for your house to be cleaned, with a minimum of 2 hours required for booking.
Priced competitively the cost per is $25/hour for weekly or bi-weekly, $27/hour for monthly, and $30/hour for a one-time clean. You provide your own cleaning supplies, which also helps to keep costs down (and ensures that they are using cleaning products that you prefer).
Cleaners use an online timer which sends you a text when they first get to your home and when they are finished. Should they ever complete your cleaning in less time, you’re only charged for what you actually used.
What I loved about Mopify
Their communication and customer service is phenomenal. They are quick to respond to emails, book in a timely manner, send out an evaluation after your cleaning and have an online chat during the day.
They have a guaranteed list of all things that are covered when cleaning your home, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you aren’t happy with something they will either send someone back to fix it or credit your account with the equal amount.
Now that I have done more looking around on the Mopify website I know that you can ask for additional tasks to be completed such as indoor window washing, cleaning the oven or fridge etc.. (extra time may need to be added to accommodate). This is listed on their website but not on their actual service request form, which I would have found helpful the first time I booked.
Will I book again?
Yes, absolutely I have actually already scheduled another cleaning appointment. As someone who has experienced several cleaning companies over the last year, none have been booked back for a second time.
