River Lifestyle Co – Devon, Alberta
Spend some time floating down the river with your family (kids must be 4+) starting off at Voyager Park and ending at Devon Lions Campground. Shuttle to and from is included as well as life jackets, tubes, and tether for the kid’s tubes!
Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm
Cost: $20/child & $23/adult
Discovery Canyon – Red Deer, Alberta
Bring your tubes and a picnic and spend the day tubing down discovery canyon! There is a small area to wade at the bottom and the water is never deeper than 18″ on an inflatable tube. Picnic tables/green space is located throughout. Get there early to get a good spot!
Hours: Daily 9am-9pm
Cost: Free unless you need to rent tubes which are $5/each
Aqua Splash Park – Sylvan Lake, Alberta
Jump from a 15-foot tower, climb the 15-foot overhang wall, jump on the oversized trampoline, a huge launch bag plus MANY other obstacles in the middle of Sylvan Lake! This is for kids 6yrs and older, and children must be at least 3’6 to participate.
Hours: 11am-8pm daily
Cost: Prices start at $12.50-$17.50/ person for an hour and a family pass for 2 adults and 2 kids are $52 for an hour.
Sylvan Lake Beach – Sylvan Lake, Alberta
Grab your coolers and plan to spend the day at Sylvan Lake Beach located right in Sylvan Lake. It’s a favourite for many, and while you’re there don’t forget to stop for some ice cream at The Big Moo!

Whitecourt Rotary Park – Whitecourt, Alberta
Bring your tubes and slide down the river slides. There is tons of green space throughout the park, as well as washrooms. There is also a spray park and an amazing playground to explore too! While there are no places to rent tubes, there are several stores close by where you can purchase them.
Allan Beach – Hubbles Lake, Alberta
Soak up the summer sun at this private sandy beach located just 30 minutes from Edmonton.
Cost: Kids under 6 are free, $6/7-17yrs, $12/18+yrs
Blackfalds Abbey Centre – Blackfalds, Alberta
This outdoor area features a children’s’ water park with a slide, giant tipping buckets and lots of spray features. There is also a pool with a tots area and 2 waterslides, a 10-foot rock wall, and hot tub!
Hours: Daily 10am-9pm
Cost: A family days pass (2 adults + children) is just $20
Long Island Lake – Westlock County
This private day use is located 90 minutes from Edmonton in Westlock County. You will find a small playground on the beautiful beach and area to picnic and enjoy the hot summer days.
Hours: Daily 7am-11pm
Forfar Recreation Park Beaches – Athabasca
Located on Long Lake everyone loves this beach because it’s large and sandy with a shallow swimming area and even better it’s open for those looking for day use!
Ol’ MacDonalds Resort – Erskine, Alberta
Located on Buffalo Lake, spend the day at the beach, grab a famous cinnamon bun from the store, check out the farm and more! All visitors are required to fill out this waiver form
Hours: Gates open at 8 am
Coast: $3/adult, $2/child
Ebling Beach – Aspen Beach Provincial Park
One of the best things about this beach is that it doesn’t get deep for a long way, making it the perfect place for younger kids to splash around. Kids can also play at the playground on the beach and as well as a cash-only concession that offers hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and more.

Wabamun Lake – Wabamun Lake Provincial Park
There is tons of sandy beach and even more green space to have a picnic or hang out on a hot day. There are outhouses and flush washrooms on site, picnic tables, fire pits and a park for kids to play.

Lions Park & Kids Pool – Fort Saskatchewan
Located in downtown Fort Saskatchewan the wading pool is a great way to cool off on hot summer days! The pool is restricted for kids 8 and under.
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 9:30 am to 6 pm
Suggested for kids 5 and over you can spend the afternoon floating down the Pembina River. Shuttles, tube rentals, and life jackets are available for rent.
Hours: Weekdays open at 11 am, Weekends open at 10 am. Close times vary.
Cost: $26-$32/tube & shuttle, $22-$28/tube only, $5 for parking
