Review – Andy’s Playground In Fort Saskatchewan, AB

Andy's Playground

Have you had the chance to check out Andy’s Playground in Fort Saskatchewan with the kids?

Located at the Dow Centennial Slo-Pitch Diamonds, 8700 84 St in Fort Saskatchewan is a vibrant park with tons of fun to be had for all ages.

The first thing that the kids all noticed was the zip line. It’s a big draw for kids, and it’s also one that you see even more at playgrounds these days!

One of the things I liked about this playground is the amount of space. The playground is split into 3 areas with a more toddler friendly area complete with a rubber ground and then the 2 other areas which have sand.  This offers kids of all ages a great selection of playground equipment to run around, explore climb, spin, and slide. We spent well over an hour there and the kids were still finding new things.

How Andy’s Playground Came To Be

The story behind Andy’s Playground is beautiful and tragic. It was built in memory of Andy Polanski, who had a true passion for Slo-Pitch and saw the need for a safe and fun playground at the Dow Centennial Slo-Pitch Diamonds, where many children would come to watch their parents play Slo-Pitch.

Literally, the day that Andy spoke to the City of Fort Saskatchewan about the need for a playground he was killed in a motor vehicle accident. You can read the full story about Andy Polanski and the journey to building the playground here.
