Candy Cane Lane opens tonight and they are celebrating 50 years! These amazing holiday light displays top the list of places that we visit every year to check out Christmas lights and best of all it’s free! If you’re planning on checking it out this year here are some things to make the visit go just that much more smoothly!

Candy Cane Lane is located on 148 Street between 100 Avenue to 92 Avenue, and the lights are on from sunset to midnight from December 7th – January 1st (2019)
See Candy Cane Lane On A Sleigh Ride
Sleigh rides can be booked on select dates from now until December 23rd! Cost is $18.44/person and children 24 months and younger are free when sitting on a lap. Sleigh rides begin and end at St. Andrew’s United Church (9915 148 St). Make sure you’re there 15 minutes before it departs as they leave one time.
Bring A Donation For The Edmonton Food Bank
There are donation boxes placed all around Candy Cane Lane where you can drop off your food bank donations. Not sure what to donate? Check out this list of suggestions.
You Might See Santa!
It’s true! Santa walks up and down Candy Cane Lane wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and for you to take your picture with! Make sure you’re following Candy Cane Lane Santa Claus on Facebook for updates.
Bring Some Cash For Treats
On the opening weekend, you can enjoy some delicious maple taffy from Canadian Maple Shack and best of all a portion of their proceeds will go towards the Edmonton Food Bank! Beaver Tails will also be there severing up some yummy treats. While there are some gas stations close by with ATM’s it’s best to bring cash just to be prepared!
Bring Your Letter To Santa
I’ll be honest, I have not found any information about Canada Post boxes being located on Candy Cane Lane this year (but I’ll update that tonight after we visit). However, if you want to see for yourself make sure the letter to Santa has the following address.

Bundle up and enjoy the stroll! If you’re going with kids don’t forget the stroller or the sled! Parking is available throughout the community, just make sure you’re parking somewhere that you’re allowed too.
