Downtown Holiday Light Up – November 14th
Share the joy of the holidays with friends and family at the Downtown Holiday Light Up. Experience Sir Winston Churchill Square as it transforms into an immersive, winter wonderland with carolers, roasted chestnuts, maple taffy on snow, bannock, hot chocolate and cookies, warming stations, Fort Edmonton and so much more.

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald – November 15th
On November 15th, 2019, the holiday season will officially commence with the hotel’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony; an open-to-the-community event in support of driving awareness for the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton. The ceremony will also unveil the hotel’s largest gingerbread house yet – standing approximately 20ft. high and 18ft wide to welcome guests as they arrive in the lobby. The colossal structure is brought to life by the hotel’s engineering and culinary teams over a total of 650 hours.

All is Bright on 124th Street – November 16th
Join the 124 Street business community to celebrate the coming of the winter season by lighting up 124 Street with illumination, live music, street performers, fire dancers, beverage gardens, a children’s activity area, food trucks, s’mores around the fire, sleigh rides, fun winter activities, and more.

Strathcona County Celebration of Lights – November 16th
Festival Place will be transformed into a winter wonderland with FREE family activities at the Celebration of Lights. This event is Strathcona County’s kickoff to the holiday season and will include a visit from Santa, holiday crafts, hot chocolate and more.

Each year the Santa Claus Parade runs down Main Street Leduc and is paired with hot chocolate and family fun entertainment! Join us for the Main Street Santa Claus Parade at 7:00 pm.

Stony Plain Christmas Light Up – November 21st
Kick-off the holiday season at the annual Christmas Light Up! Watch downtown Stony Plain come alive with the lighting of Main Street and the Town Christmas tree. Part take in the Christmas Treat & Treasure Hunt, visit with Santa Clause, stay warm by sipping on hot chocolate, standing by the fire and snacking on a hot dog prepared by the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club.

St. Albert Snowflake Festival – November 22nd
Join us in the heart of downtown St. Albert as we light up the Perron District with the warm glow of all the Christmas lights. Enjoy all the festivities as we welcome the holiday season with our annual Snowflake Festival. Families can take a ride in a horse-drawn wagon, cuddle the animals at the petting zoo, decorate cookies, play a little road hockey and of course meet Santa.

Fort Saskatchewan Lights Up – November 22nd
Sip hot chocolate or apple cider while you listen to carolers sing. Say hello to jolly old Saint Nick and take a stroll through the Enchanted Forest. The mayor will read “T’was the Night Before Christmas” just before officially switching on the lights of the holiday season!

Fort Saskatchewan Santa Claus Parade – November 23rd
Organized by the Fort Saskatchewan & District Chamber of Commerce, Santa Claus jumped at the chance to return to the city when he was invited to the Saturday, Nov. 23rd, Christmas kick-off parade. He will once again ride through the downtown streets of neighbourly Fort Saskatchewan aboard his magical sleigh. The parade gets underway at 11 a.m. from the corner of 99th the same route as previous years, it will travel down 99th and right again on 100th.

Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival – Nov 29th
Kick-off the Christmas season with a three day festival of holiday fun. Activities include a food drive, town parade, the lighting of St. Jean Baptiste Park, family skating and many more activities to be announced.

Brighten Up Beaumont – November 29th
Kick-off the holiday season with Beaumont’s annual Christmas event! Santa and Mrs. Claus along with few reindeer will drop by to visit Beaumont before getting ready for their Christmas Eve dash. Kids can decorate cookies, get pictures with Santa, visit with Mrs. Claus, and create a fun Christmas craft. There will also be sleigh rides through the beautifully lit park, hot chocolate and oranges for everyone and you can warm up by the two fire pits while you enjoy live entertainment outside. Fireworks over Don Sparrow Lake at 9 pm will cap off this festive event.

The Old Strathcona Business Association is pleased to announce our second annual Winter Whyte Light Up event.
