Why Your Child (And You) Will Love The New Granville Bambini Centre

The Granville Bambini Centre is now open!

Last week before Bambini opened their doors, I had the chance to take a tour of the location and to learn more about what they offer at their childcare centre.

The Reggio Emilia Approach

Located in West Edmonton, Bambini offers full-time and part-time childcare to children 12 months – 12 years of age. The program itself is 100% Reggio inspired, with the ultimate mission being to bring back childhood.

By taking a holistic approach that considers the body, mind, and spirit children are able to explore the unique and natural space that Bambini offers. This helps to foster imaginative and open-ended play, emotional intelligence, self-guided learning and so much more. (You can read more about Reggio inspired programming here)

The Childcare Space

When Bambini was designing the physical space of this location, they also took a holistic approach. Throughout the childcare centre, there is the natural light that flows into each of the rooms, wood walls, track lighting, and an open ceiling to give the whole centre a nice flow.

Materials and toys that are in each of the rooms were purchased with careful consideration, and also in some cases made specifically for Bambini. Utilizing natural colours and materials throughout it’s the small touches that make it whole.

What’s also really exciting is that Bambini will also have their very own natural playground. The outdoor space will include a climbing wall, natural elements such as tree stumps and rubber mulch as their ground, and of course plenty of room to run around and play.

The Importance of Community

When you first walk into Bambini it’s hard to miss the large open piazza that welcomes you. Filled with greenery and lights that can mimic the sky outside, not only is this a great space for children to enjoy throughout their day, it was also created with the community in mind.

Future plans for the piazza space include parents’ groups, information nights and well-being classes all to help families grow together and explore. In the kitchen that Bambini developed their counter space not only offers a lower area so that children can actively participate in meal prep, but it was also created as another option to bring together families.

Book Your Tour Today

The Granville Bambini Centre is located at 20930-62 Ave NW.

This post was created in partnership with Bambini Learning Group, all opinions are my own.
