The Silver Spur Drive-In has secured their location and announced their first set of movies that they will be showing. However, Edmonton has been without a Drive-In for quite a long time so let’s talk Drive-In Movie Etiquette!
No savesies! Spots are first come – first serve. If you are meeting people at the Drive-In arrive early and plan to be there at the same time to ensure you get spots beside eachother.
“..This is my dance space. This is your dance space…“ Bring lawn chairs/blankets to sit outside and enjoy the movie but remember to stay in your area and to not take over other peoples space.
Nobody likes a chatty Cathy or loud Larry! If you are sitting outside to watch the movie be considerate and don’t talk!
Butter in the middle and on top please 🙂 Bring snacks & drinks – chips, veggies & dip, sardines (to each their own…), a whole pizza, a jug of milk whatever serves your cravings. Just remember this is a public place so no alcoholic beverages are permitted & drinking and driving is against the law!
Put your garbage, in the garbage! Bring a small bag to put your garbage in and discard it in the appropriate places.
♫ Blinded by the light♫ If your vehicle has daytime running lights they should turn off if you use the emergency brake also don’t push the brake pedal. Big red brake lights get super annoying mighty fast!
Back it up! If you are backing up a van or suv bring something to tie the hatch down. The hatch shoudn’t go any higher than the actual vehicle otherwise you will block the view of other people behind you.
Have fun! This is a past time that brings back so many fond memories from my childhood and many others and I can not wait to share it with Carter & Sophie.
Did I miss an important do or do not? Let me know and I will add it to the list!
