Kids are hilarious. We have spent many nights as a family laughing at expressions or things that the kids have said. If we have left the kids to go out on a date night we often find ourselves talking about what Carter said one day, or “remember when Sophie said……”. These are the things that I want to remember, stories I want to tell at their weddings. The memories!! And as you will read kids really do say the darndest things.
Liquor
While out shopping I had been bribing my kids with candy. Sophie wanted more and obviously I didn’t get to her fast enough because she started yelling. “Mom you said I could have more liquor! Mom I want some liquor”
She meant liquorice….
Skeets
This summer while camping Sophie was freaking out yelling that there were skeets everywhere. She couldn’t describe them…she meant Mosquito’s. More cute than anything.
Spicy
I think this goes for pretty much any kids. Minty gum. Toothpaste. Mints. Anything. Carter always tells me that they are “too spicy”.
When they sing songs…and put in different words.
This is actually supposed to be…
“Stir it up; little darlin’, stir it up. Come on, baby.
Come on and stir it up: little darlin’, stir it up. O-oh”
And lastly…
When my kids were at a sleep over at my sister in laws a little over month ago Sophie was getting ready for bed. She proudly announced “My dad has a cock..” My brother in law – being the quick thinker that he is took out his phone and recorded it and sent it to us! Guess what..
She was actually saying COT. “MY DAD HAS A COT!!!” (Get your minds out of the gutters!!!!!)

My son called pixie sticks, ‘pig dicks’ all summer. Nothing like making the announcement he wants that in front of an entire stand of people at t-ball!

Kids are so fun! I never get tired of hearing the ways that little ones creatively try to communicate and describe the world around them.
