Thinking about our children’s future and the #CSTLearningProject Twitter Party

When I first started dating Kris, an uncle of his was one of the last film loaders for movie theatres here in Edmonton (I am sure there is a more technical word for ‘movie loaders’). This was at a time where movie theatres were not all digital and VHS was still available. (I’m only 32 so this isn’t that long ago). His uncle’s job was eventually phased out as everything became digital but as new methods came in new jobs with new focuses were created and look at where movie theatres are now.

Think of how much has changed since your childhood and then how much things will be even more different in the future. By the year 2030 there could be jobs such as Multi-Marketer and Marketing eMediamarketer . Because our future is evolving and electronics aren’t going anywhere it is up to us to give our children the tools that they need to have a successful future and that includes embracing new technology.

CST Learning Project Competition

Our friends over at CST get this. They just launched their annual CST Learning Project competition which funds new learning activities for children with $250,000 up for grabs. (They take the future seriously). It’s part of their cool Inspired Minds program that also includes Careers 2030—a deep dive into the possible careers our kids will have. (Robot Counsellor? Data Miner? Rewilder?)
