5 Things To Do When Camping At Wabamun Lake Provincial Park

Wabamun Lake Provincial Park

Wabamun Lake Provincial Park is one of the closest campgrounds to Edmonton that also has a beach. Located approximately 1 hour West of Edmonton the campground (that has flush toilets and showers) is one of our favourite places to camp. With so many things to do, it might also become one of your places to camp too – especially with these suggestions of things to do!

Beach Days!

The beach at Wabumun is pretty decent. There is tons of sandy beach and even more green space to have a picnic or hang out on a hot day. There are outhouses and flush washrooms on-site, picnic tables, fire pits and a park for kids to play. (Want to see other awesome Alberta beaches? Click here)

Visit the Wabamun Waterfront Park

Located in the town of Wabamun is a spray park with and park to enjoy during the summer! Don’t forget to bring some $$ as there is usually a food truck onsite too! There is also a boat launch that charges a $20 fee per day.

Ice Cream & More

If you are looking for a place to go for a cool treat, lunch, coffee, or a snack Yellow Submarine is a place to check out! Wabamun also has a small bowling

Explore

With many walking trails available at Wabamun Lake Provincial Park as well as going for a good country drive, you can see and find some pretty awesome things. Wabamun is home to several unique birds and while going for a country drive you just might happen upon some farm/acreage garage sales! (we may have scored a few trinkets last summer).
