I am always looking for ways to help give back to the community with the kids and I know I am not alone here. Finding places to volunteer with kids in Edmonton (and areas) is definitely on many peoples lists. I have found 5 places that you can volunteer with kids in Edmonton so that you too give back and gain some new experiences with your kids!
Opportunities to volunteer with kids in Edmonton + area
What the Truck?! – Parents and their school aged kids are invited to come and volunteer at one of the several What the Truck?! events and help keep the area clean! Shifts are 4-5 hours, all supplies are provided and you also get a delicious meal too. Interested? Email team@whatthetruck.ca for dates and times.
Capital Care – Visit with the seniors in the facilities as part of the Generation Mix program. Opportunities available at locations in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, + St. Albert. Details here
Good Samaritan Society – With several volunteer opportunities available children 12 years and under can volunteer with a parent/guardian. Apply to volunteer here
Edmonton Humane Society – Volunteer in one of the Animal Care area with your children. Cats, dogs Children must be of school age. Apply here
Fruits of Sherbrooke – Help pick apples and berries at various locations around Edmonton. Fruit is used for their delicious preserves. The best part is that you get to take home some of your pick as well. Win-Win! Apply here
