A few weekends ago when I had to work, Kris took the kids to an event at Edmonton International Raceway with some of our family. At one point my Sister in law took Carter to the bathroom…. To set the scene of this conversation, Carter went into the bathroom with a ball cap and once finished and one the way back this is conversation that took place.
Sister in Law: Hey Carter, didn’t you have a hat?
Carter: Yea, I took it off when I went to the bathroom…I put it in the hat holder
Sister in Law: Like the hook on the back of the door
Carter: No the hat holder… the one by where I sit
Sister in Law: The toilet paper holder?
Carter: No the box beside the toilet
Sister in Law: Oh crap
Yes you guys, my son put his hat in the feminine hygiene disposal box. However, in the mind of a 6 year old it was for his hats…I mean because all bathrooms should have a hat holder right beside the toilet amiright?!??
Bless my sister in law who bravely retrieved the hat from the ‘hat holder’ and to my husband that doesn’t throw any clothing item away since the 2012 situation when he cut off a BRAND NEW Gymboree outfit due to a poonomi… He wrapped up the hat and brought it home.
In all honestly if I had been in that moment the hat would have been tossed but it made it’s way home where it promptly got sanitized. And for anyone out there that needs to wash a ball cap (whether it’s been in a ‘hat holder’ or not…) the top rack of the dishwasher is where you can wash it. And in fear of how many hats have graced those perceived hat holders, all of his hats have been washed.
