Play at Magrath Heights Park + Explore Rabbit Hill Natural Area

One of the kids favourite places to play is at Magrath Heights Park in South Edmonton. We first found this park when we camped at Rainbow Valley Campground in Edmonton a few years back. Since then we go there to play anytime we are able too.

Magrath Heights Park

This park is a decent size for kids in various age ranges. With the majority of the park ground filled with wood chips, there is still an area that has sand for kids to play in too. It’s also a park that does not have a splash park attached to it, which is a plus for some parents!

With a green space right beside it you can bring a picnic lunch and make an afternoon of playing and exploring in this area.

Rabbit Hill Nature area

Up the hill behind the park and green space you will find the Rabbit Hill Nature area. It’s the perfect space to explore with young kids as it’s the perfect size for an adventure and take a good 30 minutes to explore.

There are spots that are steep and some tree branches can get in the way so it’s definitely not stroller friendly. We did however explore it with Finn so it’s doable. The views are breath taking and there was a point where it didn’t even feel like we were in the city.
