Located at 148 Street between 100 Avenue to 92 Avenue it’s one of the kids favourite places to visit and here are some tips for going with the family!
Plan your visit
Lights go on when it starts to get dark (around 5 pm) and are turned off at 11 pm. The times where Candy Cane Lane is most congested included weekends and right before Christmas.
If your kids are like mine, we like to plan for the less congested times because it makes all of our experiences much more enjoyable! Also, bathroom breaks beforehand are a must as there are no potties available there!
There will be some special guests
You just may see Santa walking up and down Candy Cane Lane wishing everything a Merry Christmas! WinterCity Edmonton will also be walking Candy Cane Lane on Dec 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22 and 23 handing out Hot Chocolate!
Grab a warm drink
There is something magical about sipping a hot chocolate and seeing some beautiful lights. If you’re aren’t going to check out Candy Cane Lane when WinterCity Edmonton is there bring one from home or grab one on the way.
A Starbucks is also close by and they make a great hot chocolate and temperature it just right for little kids to drink.
Bring a Food Bank donation
Donation bins are located along Candy Cane Lane for you to drop off a donation of non-perishable food items for the Edmonton Food Bank. See the Food Banks most needs items here.
Write a letter to Santa
There are a few mailboxes on Candy Cane Lane for kids to mail their letters to Santa. Letters must be mailed by December 11th to get a reply! Address the letters to:

See Candy Cane Lane on a sleigh ride!
Sleigh Rides can be booked to take in the views of Candy Cane Lane! Cost is $17/person and children 24 months and younger are free when sitting on a lap. Sleigh rides begin and end at St. Andrew’s United Church (9915 148 St) and must be booked ahead of time here.
Park & walk!
It can be quite congested and busy driving Candy Cane Lane. Parking is available in various places around the community included the church areas close by. Bundle up and if you’ve got little ones don’t forget the stroller or the sled!
Don’t forget the camera
A great way to snap some memories and get some pictures of beautiful Christmas lights. I love looking through photographs from past years and seeing the house with all of the Disney decorations in the hot air balloons (now that’s a throwback isn’t it?)
