Going to Disney on Ice? Check out these tips for going with kids.

This week Kris and I took Carter and Sophie to see Disney on Ice. They had no idea that we were going and the experience was nothing short of magical for them.

Favourite moments from the show included seeing “Hamm” from Toy Story, seeing it snow indoors, and of course the most anticipated part – Elsa + Anna. Being our first ever Disney on Ice show these are some things that we learned!

Get there early

From parking to waiting in line to purchase some Disney on Ice swag, you’ll want to give yourself at least 30 minutes if not more.

Budgeting

If you’re planning to buy some Disney souvenirs expect to pay $16 and up. We bought each of the kids snowcones in a take home Olaf cup which were $20 each. Other items that you can purchase include show guides, wands, and more.

Skip the food

Food and drinks are pricey especially if you’re buying for the whole family. Plan to eat before you go to save some money.

Don’t forget the costumes!

If your kids (or you) have a Disney costume wear it! There were many kids dressed up in their costumes and it made me regret not grabbing Sophie’s princess dress. My favourite was the little baby that I saw dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. Next time we’ll bring costumes for sure!

Visit the dollar before

Make a quick visit and purchase some glow sticks for during the show. While the show is quite captivating there were a few moments where Sophie could have used a distraction.

There are still tickets available for Disney on Ice this weekend. Prices start at $20 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster
