The conversation has been started and yet there is still a stigma attached to Mental Health issues. It’s a reality that so many people know too well and it’s time to break that stigma. This is where Bell Let’s Talk Day comes in.
When I was pregnant with Sophie I experienced Antepartum depression during my second trimester. Simply put, I experienced gut-wrenching anxiety and depression and it was brutal.
I felt alone. I felt helpless. I cried ALL. THE. TIME. And the guilt that came along with feeling anything but happy and ‘glowing’ during pregnancy made is 10 times worse!
Thankfully, I was able to find the help that I needed but so many people don’t know where to turn or are scared because of the stigma attached to mental health issues. This makes initiatives like the Bell Let’s Talk campaign even more important. Helping to raise money for mental health initiatives helps to raise awareness and will help to bridge the gap.
