Sleigh Ride Shuttle
Take a Sleigh Ride Shuttle to and from Ice on Whyte on the following dates & times:
Saturday, January 28 – 12 pm to 4 pm
Sunday, January 29 – 12 pm to 4 pm
Saturday, February 4 – 12 pm to 4 pm
Sunday, February 5 – 12 pm to 4 pm
See some breath-taking Ice Sculptures
Teams will participate in the Ice Carving competition on the first weekend, and the Three Ice Block challenge the second weekend. Judging will take place on Saturday on both weekend and it’s guaranteed that both competitions will result in some amazing Ice Sculptures that will wow everyone!
Ice Slides
The whole family can experience the giant slide located on the festival grounds. A smaller but equally fun slide can be found in the Agrium Kids Zone. Both are open from 2:00pm-10:00pm Thursday + Friday & 10:00am-10:00am Saturday + Sunday.
Contribute to the Old Strathcona Mural
Pre-register for a 1 hour tile painting workshop between 5:00pm-9:00pm on January 26th + February 2nd. Your artwork will be compiled with 500 tile paintings into a mural that tells the story of Old Strathcona.
This mural will be unveiled in Old Strathcona on Canada Day 2017. For $15 you can also purchase a print of the finished mural at the end of the festival available at Paint Spot.
Make your own Ice Sculptures
Learn to be your own L’il Chippers and make some small ice sculptures in the Igloo located at the Agrium Kids Zone.
Experience some history
Learn about the history of the fur trade in Canada, black powder firearms, and historic reenactment with the Edmonton House Brigade, take in the Ordinary People…Extraordinary Stories, learn about the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site and more!
