Summer trips – 12 kid friendly places to explore in Kelowna B.C

We’re no strangers to the Okanagan, and actually almost moved there 10 years ago. (Like put a conditional offer on a house kind of thing). Even though we didn’t move there, we have vacationed there with the kids.

While sitting on the beach is fun (so many beautiful beaches!!) when you have kids sometimes you’ve got to figure out some other things to do…and this list of kid-friendly activities in Kelowna is just what you need!

Explore Kangaroo Creek Park

Home to Kangaroos, Wallabies, Chickens, Capybaras and more! It’s a fun experience for all ages. Open 10am-2pm March-October admission is $10/adult, $5/under 19yrs , $5/seniors, and children under 5 are free. Read my review here.

Check out Carmelis Goat Cheese Artisan

Whether not you’re a fan of Goat Cheese, this is a fun place to visit. Located 12 km south of Kelowna, the drive will take you past some wineries and other beautiful sights. Even if you’re not a fan of Goat Cheese the Gelato is to die for… Also take a stroll outside and check out the Goats! Visit www.carmelisgoatcheese.com for more details.

Eat at the Jammery

Part of the popular ‘You Gotta Eat Here” show on The Food Network, it’s really one place that you have to try out. Get there early to ensure you don’t have to wait too long, however, if you do have to wait there is a store to shop at while you wait. Visit www.jammery.com for more details.

Play at Kelowna Wibit Waterpark

Great for ages 5+ all-day admission is $25 and if your child is 5-7yrs a parent is free. Located at City Park (downtown Kelowna) at 1600 Abbott street. (You can also find a Wibit park in Penticton as well as a new park this summer in Osoyoos). Visit www.okanaganwibit.com for more details!

Go for pie at Log Barn 1912

Known for their delicious pies, tarts, and more this a fun place to grab something sweet, shop, and look around. Outside there are some fun places for photo ops, old sand tractors, and you can also feed goats via a pulley and a bucket!

Swim at Kalamalka Lake

B.C. has no shortage of awesome beaches which are complemented with the warm summer weather. One of our favourite beaches to go to is on Kalamalka Lake! Find it 40 mins North of Kelowna. (There are plenty of signs)

Atlantis Waterpark

The waterpark features slides for all ages, a kidzone area for kids to play, a concession to grab something to eat or drink, and plenty of room for picnics! Visit www, atlantiswaterslides.ca for more details.

Davidson Orchards

Take a tour of the Orchard, visit with some farm animals, grab a bite to eat, and shop in the store for some homemade preserves! There is no cost to entering the farm, however, the Farm Tours do cost $4/kids 2+ and $6/adults. Visit www.davisonorchards.ca for more details.

So. many. fruit stands. Take a drive on some of the back Okanagan roads and you’ll come across some small Orchards. Fresh fruit at great prices
