As I am sitting here watching my son draw on some cement in our backyard with chalk, he all of a sudden says to me. “Mom look Orange.” Holy crap, yeah that is Orange. Must be a fluke. “Momma look PINK!!!!” … Holy shiznit, yes that’s pink.
I pick up more colors, and he gets 80% right, (not the weird brown and gray ones) but the basics. Green, yellow, white, blue, green, pink, orange..just enough for me to think he is a genius because until today we haven’t really started the whole “What colour is this and what color is this”…
When the heck did he learn his colors?
I mean he’s our third, maybe third children just come out of the womb knowing everything? Like somehow he knew that his parents were super chill having done this kid thing two times already and don’t worry so much about all the other stuff cause play, experiences, and having fun is important and the other stuff will come soon enough?
I can’t believe how fast he is growing up and his knowledge of things surprises me every day. Yesterday he was swaddled like a taco, today it’s his colors next week he’ll be spouting off the periodic table…well okay that’s getting ahead of myself but you get what I mean.
It’s time like these that make me want just one more. If you need me, I’ll be googling ‘cost of having tubes getting untied‘.
