20 free + cheap places that you can drop-in with kids around Edmonton 2017/2018

It’s back to school in little over a week and that means that the preschool drop-in programs are also starting up again.

With many free & cheap drop-in activities for kids around Edmonton (and area), you and your little ones will spend your days making new friends and having fun all while not breaking the bank! 

Free + cheap places that you can drop-in with kids around Edmonton

C.O.W Bus – A bookmobile that travels to various sites around the city. It’s a free drop-in program for parents and their children from birth to 6 years old. Join the C.O.W. bus at several locations around Edmonton starting on October 3rd.
Cost: Free

Salto Gymnastics – Kids up to 6yrs are welcome to explore their love for gymnastics in a fun and safe atmosphere. Preschool drop-in is every Tuesday from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. 
Cost: $7/child 

North Edmonton Gymnastics – Every Friday from 9:30am-11:00 am children 6months-5years can join the preschool drop-in. Under 2 yrs is $4/child and 2+ is $7. (Cash only) 

Superkids at St.Albert Centre – Join Super Kids at St. Albert Centre the 4th Thursday of the month! Kids 0-6 will enjoy a morning of fun including crafts, games, story time and more from 9-11am.You can find Superkids right beside the food court.
Cost: Free

Pheonix Gymnastics – Your little ones will love the toddler area where they can work on their gymnastics skills during this non-coached time. Drop-in is available Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays 12pm-1pm.
Cost: $5

Tot Time at Mill Woods Town Centre – Every month brings new activities and fun. Tot Time takes place the first Tuesday of the month in the center court of the mall.
Cost: Free

Hide’n’Seek – Every Tuesday is Toddler Tuesday where kids 1-3yr can drop-in at a discounted rate until 2pm. A free toddler craft class is also offered on a first come first serve basis at 10am.
Cost: $4.95

Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre – Join the Stay & Play drop-in program with your kids (0-6yrs) as they play in the indoor play space, meet new friends, participate in fun activities and enjoy nutritional snacks.
Cost: Free

Treehouse (North & South) -Every Wednesday morning from 9am-10:30 am admission is 50% off.  Kids will love climbing and exploring the large climbing structures. Each location also has an area dedicated for little ones to play.
Cost: $4-$6

Kara Family Resource Centre – Offers a few different drop-in programs at 3 different locations in North Edmonton. Meet other parents, participate in fun activities, and enjoy spending time learning through play with your children.
Cost: Free

Mommy Connections West Edmonton – Join the monthly planned activities that take place at West Edmonton Mall. Babytime is best suited for kids 2 and under and playtime is best suited for kids 2-4 yrs.
Cost: Free

Edmonton Public Library – Across Edmonton drop-in to your local library for programs like Baby Laptime, Sing, Sign, Laugh, and Learn, Story Stop, Family Story Time, and more.
Cost: Free

Primrose Place – Join other parents and kids at Mom & Me, Rhymes that Bind, Books for Babies, Purposeful Play with me and more throughout the week.
Cost: Free 

Dynamyx Gymnastics – Every Friday join the Parent & Tot Drop-In 11am-12pm. Kids can practice their gymnastics skills, get active, and have fun during this uncoached time.
Cost is $6/child and 1 supervising adult it free. 

Art Gallery of Alberta – Every Wednesday children 3-5yrs can join the Tours for Tots program from 10am-11am. Each week features a new theme and activity related to current exhibitions and aimed at building early childhood learning skills in literacy, numeracy, community awareness and creative expression.
Cost: Free for kids (adults pay admission)
