Whether its the first time shopping for a family vehicle or you’ve already had a few under your belt these are 4 things to consider when choosing the right family vehicle for you.

Choosing the right family vehicle for you

Affordability

Before you even start shopping for a family vehicle it’s important to know what you can afford to spend. Create a list of what you need and want in a vehicle. Knowing all of this will help to select the best vehicle for you and your family.

What is the safety rating?

Some vehicles have higher safety ratings than others, and when shopping for your family vehicle this is something that might be super important to you. Safety ratings, airbag placements, and other safety features are just a few things to consider.

Carseats, kids, and comfort

When we bought our first family vehicle it was a minivan and we bought it because our original plan was to have 5 kids. Oddly enough we actually didn’t even think about how many car seat tethers were in the van.

Knowing that we were only going to have 3 kids when buying our second family vehicle we still wanted to be able to have room for car seats, space for a grandparent or 2 plus a trunk that we would be able to fit our double stroller.  We ended up choosing another van that worked for us which also had the majority of things that we knew we wanted.

Entertainment & other conveniences

Is having a DVD player important to you? Being able to pop in that Paw Patrol DVD during a road trip or even during a school run has been a lifesaver for me and is worth the splurge. We also had other requirements such as side mirrors that were electronic, a disc changer (yes we still listen to CDs), and side doors that could be opened with a remote (life saver!!)
