6 tips for taking the kids to Disney on Ice in Edmonton Nov 30-Dec 3rd, 2017

Disney on Ice: Follow Your Heart will is coming to Edmonton Nov 30th-Dec 3rd and this year we’re bringing along Finn as well! Having been to last years show these are just a few tips that will help to make your experience that much more magical!

6 tips for taking the kids to Disney on Ice

Don’t forget the costumes

Have a Disney character costume that your kids (or you) want to wear? Put them on! It’s part of the magic of the whole experience and it’s super fun. My favourite last year was the little baby dressed up as Woody from Toy Story! Adorable!

Tip – Wear long sleeves under the costume, dress warm (or in layers!) or even bring along a small blanket because it can get quite chilly in there!

Get there early & plan to be up a little later

The show starts at 7:00 pm and you don’t want to be late! Parking, souvenirs, finding your seats, and even getting in that quick bathroom break will all take time.

Show length is between 1 1/2 – 2 hours with a 15-20 minute intermission. Expect to be there until at least 9:00 pm

Bring cash

If you’re planning to buy some Disney on Ice souvenirs expect to pay at least $20 and up. Last year we splurged on kids snow cones in a take-home Olaf cup which were $20 each. There are also other items available to be purchased which include show guides, wands, and more.

Also, another thing to think about is parking there are several places to park which can cost at least $10-$15. The good thing about Northlands Coliseum is that there is an LRT station right there so you can also Park and Ride as well.

Visit the dollar store

If purchasing souvenirs isn’t in your budget every dollar store has a good collection of different glow sticks. They also serve as a great distraction which is something that I anticipate will come in handy with Finn that’s for sure!

Skip the snacks!

Plan to eat before you go because food and drinks can get pretty pricey, especially if your buying for the whole family and it’s more snack food.

Don’t forget the camera

Charge your phone or bring a camera with you because you can take pictures! (Just make sure not to use a flash). Do you have a camera that your kids can use? Consider bringing that along too or even purchasing a disposable one so that they can capture their own memories.

Get your Disney on Ice tickets

Tickets are still available starting at just $20, and until Nov 29th you can save $5 on adult tickets for select dates using discount code ‘OFF5’.
