It’s that time of year again, where parents start to look into preschools for the 2018/2019 school year, which means that it is also time for the preschool open houses! Not sure when or where they are, this list will help you out.

Les Tournesols Preschool – January 29th

Where: 15 Mission Ave, Saint Albert
The philosophy of the Les Tournesols Preschool program is that children learn best through play. Play allows children to learn about themselves, their world, and how to interact with other people. Located in St. Albert, Les Tournesols is proud to be St. Albert’s only French Immersion Preschool and offers a gentle introduction to the French language suitable for children from both English-speaking and French-speaking homes. As a place where children can have experiences that will help develop good attitudes and habits in a bilingual environment, these experiences will help your child learn many new skills when they are ready (social, physical, intellectual, cultural-creative and emotional).

Malmo Preschool – January 31st

With a focus on learning through play, Malmo offers separate classes for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds.Malmo Preschool is located at Malmo Elementary School in Edmonton. Every month brings a theme, with special activities, guest speakers, and field trips to further stimulate and challenge the children, along with daily activities as well. Children are exposed to art media, music, science, books, food, people and community experience to broaden and expand their knowledge.

Riverbend Christian Preschool – February 6th
When: 12:30 pm – 2:00pm & 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Where: 495 E Rhatigan Rd NW
A Christian Preschool operating at Riverbend Lutheran Church that is committed to quality early childhood education in a Christian environment which enables children to demonstrate achievement in their intellectual, physical and creative development in a Learn Through Play environment. Small Sprouts Preschool – February 8th

A home-based preschool that fuses early literacy and numeracy with play. Small Sprouts has separate classes for 3-year-old and 4-year-old as well as small class sizes (max 6 children) allowing for plenty of individual attention. No parent volunteering or fundraising is required and the teacher has a Bachelor Degree in Education as well as Child Development Supervisor Certificate.

Utilizing the “learning through play” philosophy, Les Bouts d’Chou is an independent, non-profit, non-denominational, volunteer “parent” run cooperative program located at Ecole Frere Antoine School. Little Aspen Playschool – February 15th

A successfully run playschool in SW Edmonton that has been in the community for over 25 years. LIttle Aspen Playschool Society is a parent-operated co-operative and a non-profit organization which offers a play-oriented program with daily outdoor activities, for 3 hours. Class sizes are small, with a max of 15 students and are run by full-time teacher and assistant. No parent duty days or mandatory fundraising is required. Registration opens on their website February 20th at 6:00 am.

Westend Community Playschool – February 20th

If you are looking for a playschool where your child can play, take music classes and get ready for kindergarten all at the same time WECP offers all of that. New to the 2018/2019 school year is a 3-morning class option added for 3-year-olds. School registration for the public opens on February 5th on the WECP website and can also be done on the night of the open house as well.
