Watch Wonder at home with the family + enter to win a Blu-ray copy

“It’s been awhile since I watched a movie where I cried throughout the whole thing,” I said to my husband as we were leaving the theatre.

Eyes red and puffy we had just finished watching Wonder, which is about a not-so-ordinary boy named Auggie Pullman who is a cheerful ten-year-old going into grade five, in a mainstream school for the first time.

For the first few years of his life, Auggie was homeschooled due to having 27 surgeries for his craniofacial differences. As a young boy who is now facing a world that doesn’t know how to face him back, Auggie must navigate making friends, being bullied and fitting in.

“When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind.”

I didn’t cry throughout the whole movie because it was sad – don’t get me wrong there were some definite sad moments but I was also crying during the moments of joy, change and triumph with not only Auggie but with his whole family too. Inspired by the always-present message to choose kindness and that it’s not what’s on the outside but rather what’s on the inside that really matters.
