Family Road Trip: See Dinosaurs Unearthed in Wembley, Alberta

If you have child who has a passion for dinosaurs you’re going to want to put Dinosaurs Unearthed the temporary exhibit at The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum in Wembley, Alberta on you list of places for a family road trip.

Dinosaurs Unearthed

Located just 9 km west of Grande Prairie, the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum opened in 2015 and features collections that include marine fossils, specimens, casts, murals, articulated re-constructions, core samples and artifacts from various dinosaurs, a large family theatre, as well as an outdoor discovery fossil walk, a large outdoor playground, and the onsite Dine-O-Saur restaurant.

Experience the dinosaurs’ world like never before as you watch dinosaurs come alive as life-sized animatronics of ProtoceratopsDeinonychus, and the iconic Tyrannosaurus rex. Learn about the fascinating advances in science that have allowed palaeontologists to reconstruct how these animals lived and breathed.

Tuesday – Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm
Close Mondays

June 1st – August 31st
Saturday – Monday 10:00am-6:00pm
Tuesday – Friday 10:00am – 8:00pm

Adult $14
Seniors (65+) and veterans – $11
Students (with ID) and children (5-17) – $7
Children under 5 – free
Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) – $40
*AMA members receive 10% off

If you are seeing a National Geographic film or a full length film during your visit it is an extra $2-$4
