When we were house shopping a few years back we knew that having a yard of some sort was a must for us. The house that we live in has an amazing yard which sits on a 1/4 lot, virtually unheard of these days in the city. It’s truly a gem.
We have become increasingly busy over the past few years, and our yard care has been at the bare minimum, to say the least. No meticulous mow lines here and of course, with such a large yard the first clean up of the spring is always the worst.
After some discussion between Kris and I, we had decided that we needed to hire someone to do help with the Spring Cleanup this year and at the same time I received an email from YARDLY asking if I would be interested in working together. Big sigh of relief.
How YARDLY works
Aside from being my life saver, YARDLY offers lawn care (and snow removal) in Edmonton and surrounding areas. You can book your Spring clean-up, lawn mowing service plans which are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, and flexible schedule, and even your Fall clean-up.
Booking your appointments can be done completely online, which is easy to do on a tablet, phone, or computer and makes it super convenient.
When you book an appointment online your name is sent to a queue to be assigned to one of the independent service providers that work with YARDLY. Once the job is assigned you are given a timeframe. At the time of booking, you also enter your credit card so once your yard work is finished you are then charged.
Prices are competitive with other lawn maintenance companies around Edmonton with weekly lawn mowing ranging from $129-$234/month, bi-weekly ranging from $99-$168/month, flex-cut ranging from $53-$95/visit and a one time home visit ranging from $73-$115.
The other great thing is that YARDLY takes before & after pictures. This means that even if you’re vacationing somewhere you’ll get picture proof that the work has been done. All of the independent service providers have commercial liability insurance, a clear criminal record check, and have maintained a 4.0 rating for customer satisfaction. YARDLY takes pride in their work in all aspects, and it shows.
The experience
From the day that I booked an appointment to the day that they arrived, it was 6 days but being a busy time of the year with everyone getting Spring Cleanup I knew this was normal.
When they arrived at my house they were there to work and worked efficiently. Like I said our house sits on a 1/4 acre lot so yard maintenance is not a quick and easy job that’s for sure.

Having YARDLY come in to do our Spring Cleanup helped us to get back on track to where we needed to be but it’s also nice to know that they are only a click away should we happen to falter and need someone to come and help us out should we need out lawn mowed this summer. Next step is working on getting that grass up to the lush green lawn place it once was.
