It’s that time of year again where you can register for Simply Supper Lemonade Stand Day. Taking place through the Simply Supper Helps Initiative on Sunday, August 26th and registration is now open and it’s the perfect way to teach your kids how to give back while serving up some cold lemonade!
Simply Supper Lemonade Stand Day Goal
This year’s goal is to have over 400 lemonade stands throughout the City of Edmonton and beyond! Last year there were lemonade stands as far as Cold Lake! This year the money raised will be used to renovate “The Beach” area in the hospital.
“The Beach” is a playroom on the fourth floor of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. A destination at the hospital that plays a large part in helping sick kids cope. The Beach is decorated with beach scenes and filled with toys for children to play with, from an air hockey table to a sandbox. It’s an open-ended play area where children of all ages can participate in a variety of experiences. Playing is an important part of a child’s life; it can help minimize the stress and anxiety that can be associated with being in the hospital.
