Kiwi Nurseries is a local tree, shrub and perennial nursery which family owned and operated business that is located west of Edmonton before Spruce Grove on Highway 16 and Range Road 270.
From New Zealand To Canada
When Murray and Alison moved to Alberta in 1978, they quickly realized the opportunities were amazing, and they decided to stay the five years required to obtain citizenship before returning home to New Zealand. The salaries in Edmonton were higher than in New Zealand, so with a significantly lower cost of living and half the taxes, they were able to make and save much more money that they could have in New Zealand.
On July 1st, 1981 Murray and Alison became Canadian Citizens and were becoming more invested in the community and their business that they had been running successfully for 2 years. It was at this time they realized it was less and less likely that they would be returning to New Zealand full time anytime soon.
After a successful first season on their own as Kiwi Landscaping (1983) Ltd., Murray and Alison returned for a visit to New Zealand. With the high-interest rate on their home mortgage, they chose to sell their house while they were in New Zealand for a few months. When they returned to Edmonton, they realized they could afford to purchase land for less than the cost of their previous home mortgage and warehouse rental payments, so decided to buy land and start their family.
Since then, they have spent the last 40 years growing their business, community and family (which now runs the family business!)
Kiwi Nurseries Is Celebrating 40 years!
Kiwi Nurseries is celebrating it’s 40 years in business this year and they are going BIG with the celebrations! Giving back to their community is important so they are throwing 40 events for all ages and interests! During this time they will also be donating 40 trees/shrubs to celebrate their 40th Anniversary!

Starting on May 5th. Kiwi Nurseries is jumping right into their Gardening events and throughout the day they will cover how to start a vegetable garden, the basics of pruning, and an hour-long class on how to start, use and store cannabis. Admission changes with each event so make sure to check out the following links for details.

Stop By The Caffeinated Kiwi
This is the first year Kiwi will have a mobile coffee shop called Caffeinated Kiwi, parked on site. Stop by and grab a cup of coffee and take a stroll through our nursery.
