Located in Vernon BC in the Okanagan Valley is a beautiful farm called Camelot Haven Alpacas.
Home to both male and female Alpacas, Camelot Haven Alpacas offer small group tours to see the Alpaca’s up close and personal in their natural environment.
Tours are about an hour long and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. During the tour, you will learn all about the Alpacas that are in the herds. A minimum of 2 people are required and it is $20/person or $65/family (2 adults/2 children).
Guided Alpaca walks are also available which are available on Wednesday & Saturday mornings for adults and children 13+ and require at least 24 hours notice as well. The guided walks are about 1.5 hours which will take you on a beautiful country stroll.
What You Need To Know
Wearing proper shoes is a must as there is quite a bit of walking. I’d suggest running shoes as I wore flip flops and they weren’t the easiest when walking up and down the large hill.
Because you are visiting the Alpacas in their natural environment there is no guarantee that they will come up to you – especially if you tease, shout, or spook them. We were lucky enough to have some of them come up to use but there were also some that went to the other side of the field.
You Can Shop There
Did you know that Alpaca fibre is water-resistant and can also wick away moisture? It’s also great for bedding products like duvets and sheets as it’s dust mite resistant as well and anti-fungal and anti-microbial.
We have some winter gloves and hats that are made out of Alpaca fibre and they are AH-MAZING! While you’re at Camelot Haven Alpacas make sure you check out the Alpaca Shop which has apparel for men, women, and children.
