This Saturday, May 16th the Royal Alberta Museum will be open again to the public!
Royal Alberta Museum Is Reopening This Saturday
There will however be some changed to help ensure that all patrons can physically distance and stay safe while exploring the museum. This includes:
- Reduced hours to being open 10 am – 4 pm, Wednesday to Sunday
- Time-entry admission which needs to be purchased prior to your visit, with a maximum of 15 visitors per time slot and 100 total allowed in the building at a time. (If you do not purchase a ticket beforehand, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get into the museum)
- The closure of all hands-on and interactive areas, which unfortunately includes the Children’s Gallery, ATMs, Cafe, etc.
- Discounted ticket prices to reflect certain exhibits being closed.
- Signs, dots, and route markers to help with maintaining physical distancing
- Strollers being strongly encouraged
- Providing hand sanitizer and increased disinfecting throughout the museum
- Keeping only the west doors on 99 street open, with designated doors for “in” and “out”
What Exhibits Will Be Open?
You can still visit the Bug Gallery and Museum Zone, Human and Natural History Halls as well as the Museum Shop. There will however be some restrictions to ensure that all museum patrons are safe.
