Shuswap Vacation – We Stayed In A Airbnb Trailer On A Farm And Loved It

This year our annual BC trip was a little different. Instead of hauling our trailer, we decided to pack up our minivan and hit the road. Knowing that we wanted to spend more time this summer in the Shuswap I began looking for some options for places to stay.

Trailer Airbnb In The Shuswaps

One of the places that I looked at was Airbnb which is where I stumbled upon a 29ft Laredo Travel Trailer, situated in the beautiful Shuswap valley at Gleneden Ridge Farm. A little piece of paradise that would be ours for 2 nights.

Inside The Trailer

When we arrived, we were greeted by Leon the Border Collie followed by the host Graham, who gave us a quick tour of our trailer. Clean, inviting, and comfortable the trailer had everything you could ever need including WIFI. One of the things that I really appreciated was that they also provided us with hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes should we need them.

The layout which is very similar to our trailer was perfect for our family of five with three bunks in the back and a full queen bed in the front. The queen mattress (which isn’t the original) is one of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on, making it one of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had.

In the bathroom is where you will find a toilet, sink, full shower with a small tub, stocked with soap, shampoo and fresh towels. On to the main area is where the kitchen, u-dinette, and loveseat are located.

On The Farm

The farm itself is home to some horses, goats, shetland ponies, chickens, roosters, and ducks. It was the only time during our summer vacation that our 3 kids were up and outside before we were even out of bed.

Down by the horses is where you will find a small play structure and tire swing which the kids loved playing on as well as a picnic table. This was perfect for enjoying family meals and sipping coffee during those big beautiful BC morning sunrises.

Staying at Gleneden Ridge Farm was one of our favourite places that we stayed during this vacation, and we hope to be able to go back again next summer. Located in Salmon Arm, B.C., you can check out their Airbnb listing online here
