Recently I was invited to stay the night at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel West Edmonton with my family. This worked perfectly because staycations are what we’re about these days, especially if it’s staying at a hotel with a pool!
The suite that we were booked into was definitely a space that accommodated us well. Not only was there a separate King bedroom there was also a spacious living area with a dining table, fridge and sink, and a seating area with a pull-out couch. If you are a family of 5 or more you know the struggle that is finding accommodations where you’re not tripping over each other.
On the main floor of the hotel is where you will find the restaurant Stages Kitchen and Bar. Offering a good menu selection, we enjoyed some nachos and pizza for dinner after a late-night pool booking. Currently, they are only open for dinner, which also made having the fridge in our suite super convenient to store some snacks and breakfast items.
Using the Amenities + Other Important Details
The pool is also located on the main floor and is available to book for 1-hour time slots, once a day upon check-in. I highly suggest packing some floaties and/or pool toys to bring with you if you don’t think your kids (or even you) will be entertained for the whole hour. There are lounge chairs and tables to sit at as well and clean towels are provided.
DoubleTree by Hilton is committed to keeping its guests and staff safe by following all guidelines for AHS and also through their Hilton CleanStay program. Some of the things that I appreciated during our stay includes:
- The CleanStay sticker on our door (which indicated that our room had been disinfected and not accessed since it was deep cleaned)
- Hand sanitizer conveniently placed all around the hotel, and hand sanitizer wipes provided in our suite.
- The consistent cleaning of high traffic public spaces
