Family Camping Trip at Jarvis Bay Campground, Sylvan Lake

Family Camping Trip at Jarvis Bay Campground, Sylvan Lake

We have been camping alot these past few weeks! On Sunday we headed to the Jarvis Bay campground (after the moms group camping trip) to camp for 2 more nights.

Jarvis Bay is located minutes out of the town of Sylvan Lake and about 20 minutes from Red Deer. The price is typical $26/un-serviced & $33/power per night, the campsites are surrounded generously by trees, and there were many young families camping.

There are so many things to do in Sylvan Lake. Ice cream at The Big Moo, the beach, Wild Rapids Waterslide Park, stroll the shops, or rent a boat through SunSport Recreation. (plus much more)

The weather wasn’t that great so we drove into Red Deer and went swimming at the Collicutt Centre. This was an awesome facility. A kids play pool, a fun water slide, lazy river with a slide at the end, wave pool, and 2 hot tubs. We all had a blast! Afterwards we took a drive in the country and then went back to our campsite to explore and pick out which campsites we would like to book in the future. (The ones closest to the water are beautiful.)

The next day we enjoyed a nice leisurely breakfast and a trip to the park before packing up. Of course we also went for some ice cream at The Big Moo before heading home. Family Camping Trip at Jarvis Bay Campground, Sylvan Lake

We still have some weekends in August that we want to go camping and looking at the Jarvis Bay campground availability there are still some campsites available that we just my have to book!

[…] Parking is also available at $15.00/day or $10/after 3:30pm. There however free parking close by if you don’t mind the walk. To take advantage of the 2 for 1 Wild Rapids Waterslide Park tickets you can buy them online here and print them them to bring with you.   Sylvan lake is a mere 1.5 hours South of Edmonton, and it’s a great place to go for a day trip or to camp.
