What to do with all of that Halloween Candy

What to do with all of that Halloween Candy

What to do with all that Halloween candy!

Do you have left over Halloween candy but you are not really sure what to do with it? Maybe you have let your kids have their one night pig out and it’s time to make use for it in other ways. Or maybe you planned for a certain amount of kids to come to your house and you didn’t even get half of the anticipated amount. Check out these ideas on what you can do with the Halloween candy!

Sell it

Spearmint Dental is buying back candy at $1/lb, and also handing out flashing LED tooths brushes and treats. There will also be a draw for an iPad mini & sumo drone!

Save it for another season

Save the Candy that can be used for decorating baking for the holidays. Lots of candy would be great for decoratin Gingerbread Houses!!

Have the Switch Witch visit

The idea behind the Switch Witch is that you leave out the majority or all of your candy at night and in the morning the Switch Witch has left you a gift in exchange for your candy. Check out this company and their book on the Switch Witch. It can be done any time – it doesn’t have to happen on Halloween eve.

Be sneaky and use it for learning..

Teach mama gives a few ideas on how to use all of that Halloween candy for learning purpose. Reading, patterns, math – it can all be done with the candy. Who would have thought??

Save it for baking

Instead of making chocolate chip cookies this week, we are going to take some of the chocolate bars that the kids got, crush them up and use them instead of chocolate chips. Best. Idea. Ever.

Move over Sprinkles

Nerds, gob stoppers, the billion of suckers that your kids get. Don’t worry those can be used too! Crush them up and use them as the decorative rims for your fancy drinks or as toppings for ice cream.  Who am I kidding. Use the chocolate too!!

Put it in the freezer

Some candy, such as chocolate bars freeze great. Pull one out of the freezer for when you need that sugar fix.

Make chocolate bowls

Just like I wrote at Easter about the left over chocolate, you can use chocolate bars to make chocolate bowls. They are awesome for serving ice cream.

What about you? Do you have something that you do with the left over Halloween candy that isn’t on this list? I would love to hear about it!

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
