Starting the week of October 30th the Baby Box will be available to every mom expecting between October 1st, 2016 – October 1st, 2017 across Alberta!
The purpose of the Baby Box is to provide a safe sleep space for all infants regardless of socioeconomic status and to engage as many parents as possible in our supportive community.
Getting your Baby Box is easy and can be done in 3 simple steps.
Step 1 – Register for Baby Box University
In a few simple steps, you can register online here. Pick the Alberta syllabus and you’re on your way!
Step 2 – Get your completion certificate
You will need to watch 8 videos that are 10-12 minutes in length to receive your certificate. Topics include Postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, SIDS, and more. Once you finish all of the videos your certificate will be emailed to you.
Step 3 – Pick up your Baby Box
In Edmonton, the pick-up location is the Jasper Place Child and Family Resource Centre/West Edmonton Parent Link. There are several locations registered across Alberta. You can view the places across Alberta here. (Make sure you check the hours of operation before you pick up your Baby Box)
If you know of an Alberta location that is willing to be a pick-up they can contact [email protected] to get signed up
What the Baby Box includes
The Box itself includes a mattress, waterproof cover and fitted 100% cotton sheet. Boxes will also include the following for your new baby:
Pampers Wipes
Pampers Diapers
Vroom baby brain boosting activities courtesy of the Bezos Family Foundation
Cloth breast pads
Onesie
Teether
Diaper tote bag
This is just another step in the right direction to help new moms at the times when they need it the most! Will you be registering to get a Baby Box?
Priscilla Taylor says
I completed the registration and quiz. Did receive the certificate in email but took a screen shot of it as I completed on my phone.
Is there a pick up location south Edmonton or Leduc? Can I use my screen shot?
anotheryegmommy says
Hi Priscilla, As far as I know there is only one pick-up location in Edmonton. I’m not sure if you can use a screen shot or not.
Judith says
This is FABULOUS! What a wonderful thing for new moms.
Elizabeth says
Why only babies born in October? My baby was born Sept 20
Kelly says
I think she means her baby was born sept of 2016 therefore, not qualifying. And before you put someone down like that make sure you don’t make yourself look silly. It’s arrogant people like you that shouldn’t reproduce.
Patricia says
Jessica, some people should be more polite! If you read correctly you would see that her baby was born in September!
Lisa says
As new moms lots is going on, so explaining a bit more and being compassionate is what we all need. I totally understood what Elizabeth was asking – how come the beginning date is for October? Which means she would miss out on a great starter gift for her new arrival! I’m sure lots of moms will be thinking this – I know I would!
So please do not put others down, I’m sure you would not care for it if it was done to you – over a simple comment.
In the meantime – Congratulations mommy’s! 🙂
anotheryegmommy says
Thanks Lisa for your kind words! 🙂

I think they had to start somewhere so they picked a year of dates. Let’s hope it goes well that it’s the norm for all Canadian moms 🙂
Magen says
Jessica, I think it is you who needs to read! If you had you would see that Oct 2016 – Oct 2017 still doesn’t help her get the box.
It is rude people like you who shouldn’t reproduce not her! Bitch!!
maureen says
that rude comment was completely uncalled for.
anotheryegmommy says
I am not too sure why. I think they just needed some place to start and finish.
Debbie Blair says
Why only Edmonton? Why not other Alberta cities? I have 2 daughters expecting, one in March and one in June but we live in Lethbridge and Taber
Lauren says
There are other cities. That’s just the Edmonton location. It states there are several locations across Alberta.
Debbie says
Where?
anotheryegmommy says
Hi Debbie under ‘Step 3’ it says that there are several locations across Alberta. Cheers!
Lori says
Click on the “other Alberta cities” option. It show some one in Lethbridge for sure.
leigha says
Where are the pick up places in Alberta. There is no information on where they are.
Jenn says
How do you watch the videos
Krys says

Krys says

anotheryegmommy says
