As moms, we don’t put ourselves first a lot (or even at all). It’s something that we don’t even realize that we’re doing…it just happens and it’s not until you start getting that overwhelming feeling that you need to step back and relax that you do something about it.
I’ve been there a few times and it’s just recently that I am starting to realize that I need to be more proactive in this area, because how can you take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first? Plain and simple. You can’t.
This past weekend I had the chance to relax with a facial and manicure at Aurora Yoga & Spa. As I took a couple of hours for myself and cleared my mind of all the things that needed to be done and focused on the here and now I made a resolution to practice more self-care.
Facials and manicures
All of the products that Aurora uses for their skincare services are from the Image Skincare line which offers great results, and paraben free products that smell great without that overwhelming perfumy smell. (There were times where my face smelt like a creamsicle).
A few days later my face still feels soft and my most troublesome area on my face (my chin) has fewer blackheads and impurities. Plus the facial and head massage were amazing!
I also booked a manicure with Gel nail polish to take care of a winter’s worth of hangnails, dry skin, and to even out my nails which I just recently stopped biting.
It’s amazing how good you feel about yourself with something as simple as getting a manicure. I walked out of there feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of my day!
