13 things to do with the kids this week around Edmonton

It’s the second week of summer but I feel like it’s our first week because last week the kids were at summer camp! Edmonton has so much going on, and here are a few suggestions! 

Grab a free Slurpee from 7-Eleven – July 11th
July 11th is 7-Eleven day and to celebrate you’re invited to go to your local 7-Eleven between 11:00 am – 7:00 pm and enjoy a FREE 12 oz Slurpee (while supplies last).

Free Guided Nature Tours at the Larch Sanctuary – July 11th Celebrate 150 Acres of Canada’s Natural Heritage and join guided nature walks in the sanctuary to introduce environmental stewardship, inspire a deeper appreciation of our natural heritage, and understanding of how nature has shaped our communities and country. Guided walks will be held at 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm. Register for a guided nature walks on Eventbrite today!

Kids activities at Callingwood Farmers Market – July 12th
From 12-5 check out the bunny exhibit where kids can learn about the bunnies, pet and feed them! There will also be a bouncy castle, face painter and sparkle tattoos! Join the fun Zumba dance party at 1 pm.

Go on a Scavenger Hunt – July 12th
Join Amity House for their family park nights! Go on a fun scavenger hunt, play at the park and enjoy snacks from 6:00pm-8:00 pm

Grab some basic ingredients and make Exploding Baggies

Learn about Butterflies – July 12th
Explore and learn about nature with the family at Family Nature Nights, this week’s theme is Butterflies at Jackie Parker Park. Limited spots are available. Registration is from 6:00pm-6:25pm and activities go until 8:30pm

Get entertained at Street Performers – All week
The Edmonton International Street Performers brings you many family-friendly performances on Churchill Square. Visit Kids’ World daily from 11:30am-6:00 pm for performances, play and activities for the young and young at heart.
