This year for Christmas we re-purposed our toy room to be a more useable space and added a Roku Express for streaming!
Streaming With The Roku Express Is Easy & Affordable
For awhile we’ve been rethinking the purpose of our toy room to make it into something that is also older kid-friendly. We knew that we wanted to include a TV in the room along with something that would give the kids the option to watch some of their favourite shows/movies, but didn’t cost a crazy amount.
Enter the Roku Express. Perfect for the first-time streamer, it’s affordably priced at just $40. It’s also extremely user-friendly, especially with a remote that has a shortcut button for Netflix making it easy for even our 4-year-old to find his favourite shows.
There are many other options for streaming on the Roku Express which include Disney+, Apple TV, sports, local news, 100,000+ movies and TV episodes and so much. You pay for what you want – but to be honest aside for programs like Netflix and Disney+ we haven’t paid for anything else and we definitely don’t feel like we are lacking in options.
Setting it up took less than 10 minutes and the load time is super quick making the picture that it displays also very clear. Considering whether it’s right for your area? The Roku Express is also compact, which is needed when there are kids around. Small and out of sight.
The Verdict
For what it’s needed it for, it does the job and it does it perfectly so no complaints here. Aside from the fact that I am sad that we can’t use it for our outdoor backyard movies in the summer, it really just means I’ll have to order a different model…and perhaps also another one for the trailer.
